Ajman Bank Achieves Record Profits in 2024

Ajman Bank has reported its highest annual profits to date, achieving a profit before tax of Dhs440 million for the year 2024. This marks an impressive growth of 213% from the previous year's net loss of Dhs390 million. For more details, visit the original Gulf Business report.

The bank's remarkable turnaround underscores the strength of its strategic vision and successful transformation initiatives, positioning it as a leading entity within the UAE's banking sector. According to data from the IndexBox platform, the robust performance of Ajman Bank is further emphasized by its total operating income of Dhs1.5 billion and a net operating income of Dhs736 million.

Ajman Bank's initiatives have not only improved its financial performance but also led to a significant enhancement in key financial metrics. The bank reported an increase in return on equity by 2745 basis points to 12.9% and return on assets, which saw a rise of 332 basis points to 1.8%. Meanwhile, total assets surged to Dhs23 billion alongside customer deposits amounting to Dhs19 billion.

During a board meeting at Ajman Bank's headquarters, Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of both the Executive Council and the Board of Directors, announced that the bank would propose a 7.25% cash dividend, subject to approval.

Moreover, Ajman Bank's capital position and asset quality have shown increasing strength. The bank's equity has grown to Dhs3.1 billion, and the non-performing loan ratio has improved from 13.8% to 9.9% due to effective resolutions of distressed assets.

Commenting on these achievements, CEO Mustafa Al Khalfawi highlighted the contribution of the bank's transformation strategy which emphasizes speed, service, and specialization. Despite technological investments, general and administrative expenses were reduced by 5%, reflecting improved efficiency.

Ajman Bank's capital adequacy ratio climbed to 19.1% and the Tier 1 Capital Ratio reached 18%, exceeding regulatory requirements and showcasing its strong liquidity and capital structure. These financial results provide a solid foundation for sustained growth and profitability in the coming years.
