Significant Decrease in Australia's Television Receiver Price: Now $278 per Unit

Australia Television Receiver Import Price in June 2023

In June 2023, the television receiver price amounted to $278 per unit (CIF, Australia), which is down by -30.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 16% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $398K per thousand units. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,076 per unit), while the price for China ($211 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Australia Television Receiver Import Prices by Type

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplied products. In June 2023, the product with the highest price was reception apparatus for television, whether or not incorporating radio-broadcast receivers or sound or video recording or reproducing apparatus; incorporating a black and white or other monochrome video display or screen ($2,569 per unit), while the price for tuner blocks ($103 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports peaked at 137M units in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The second position in the ranking was held by tuner blocks ($6.5M), with a 10% share of total imports.

China (124K units), Vietnam (80K units) and Indonesia (9K units) were the main suppliers of television receiver imports to Australia, with a combined 95% share of total imports.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +5.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, the largest television receiver suppliers to Australia were China ($26M), Vietnam ($24M) and Malaysia ($6.8M), together accounting for 92% of total imports.
