In December 2022, the uncooked pasta (not containing eggs) price amounted to $2,107 per ton (CIF, Australia), picking up by 2.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,187 per ton. From July 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($2,653 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,753 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2022, Italy (1.7K tons) constituted the largest uncooked pasta (not containing eggs) supplier to Australia, accounting for a 53% share of total imports.
