Barclays Europe CEO Urges Major AI Infrastructure Investments at Davos
During a crucial discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Barclays Europe CEO Francesco Ceccato emphasized the pressing need for major investments in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and energy. According to Euronews, Ceccato highlighted that no single company or government can shoulder these financial burdens alone.
Ceccato's comments coincided with the announcement from US President Donald Trump, revealing a landmark investment initiative called Stargate, involving OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank, with immediate deployment of approximately $100bn (EUR96bn) and an expected increase up to $500bn (EUR480bn) over the next four years.
