BBB Foods Inc. Shareholders Plan to Sell Stake Post-IPO

Shareholders of Mexican discount retailer BBB Foods Inc., including its founder and significant early investors, are preparing to sell shares just a year post-IPO. According to Bloomberg, the sale involves 17.5 million shares and is expected to generate approximately $546.5 million based on the closing price of $31.23 on Monday.

Bolton Partners Ltd., associated with BBB founder Anthony Hatoum, along with board member Sami Khouri and investment vehicles managed by Quilvest Capital Partners, are among the key stakeholders seeking to offload their shares. An additional allotment of 2.6 million shares could further be sold by the current holders. The equity offering is being managed by JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley.

Founded by Anthony Hatoum, a Lebanese-American who relocated to Mexico about two decades ago, Mexico City-based Tiendas 3B has shown remarkable market performance. The company saw a 78% increase in its stock value since its initial public offering, which successfully raised $677 million.

While shareholders prepare for the transaction, there are broader economic concerns as investors monitor the implications of U.S. tariffs on developing nations, recently deferred after a dialogue between President Trump and Mexico's Claudia Sheinbaum.
