Bill Ackman's Pershing Square Acquires Major Stake in Uber

Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has announced that his hedge fund, Pershing Square Capital Management, has acquired 30.3 million shares of Uber Technologies Inc., significantly increasing its stake in the ride-hailing giant. In a recent post on Yahoo Finance, Ackman expressed his confidence in Uber's business model, hailing it as one of the best-managed and highest-quality enterprises worldwide.

The renowned investor revealed that Pershing Square began building its position in Uber in early January. "Remarkably, [Uber] can still be purchased at a massive discount to its intrinsic value," Ackman noted, emphasizing the rarity of such an opportunity in the large-cap market segment. Ackman also hinted at forthcoming detailed insights into their strategic perspective on Uber.

The disclosure has positively impacted Uber's market performance, with shares rising by 7.5% as of 11:39 a.m. in New York following Ackman's announcement.
