Blackrock to Expand Workforce in India with 1,200 New Hires

Blackrock Inc., the world's largest asset manager, is set to significantly expand its workforce in India by hiring nearly 1,200 new employees to bolster its support hubs in the country. According to a report by Bloomberg News, the recruitment drive aims to enhance Blackrock's artificial intelligence capabilities across its 'iHubs' located in Mumbai and Gurugram.

This hiring initiative will expand Blackrock's total headcount in these two Indian cities to approximately 3,500 employees. The new staff will primarily consist of engineers and data experts, vital additions as the company continues to leverage India's burgeoning tech talent pool to support its global operations. Additionally, Blackrock is poised to inherit a global capabilities center in Bengaluru, the IT hub of India, contingent upon its proposed acquisition of data provider Preqin. This center is expected to house about 1,500 workers.
