European Imports of Dried or Smoked Fish Dwindle

European imports of dried or smoked fish reduced by 5% y-o-y to 338K tons in 2020, continuing its downward trend over the past three years. In value terms, imports declined to $3.3B. Germany, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Spain and France constitute the largest importers of dried or smoked fish in the EU, accounting for 83% of the total figure. Spain, France, Portugal and Italy saw significant drops in purchases from abroad last year, while Germany, Sweden and Denmark managed to boost their imports. The dried or smoked fish import price in the EU declined by -2.3% against the previous year.
