Brazil Fiberboard Export Price in June 2023
In June 2023, the fiberboard price stood at $69.9 per cubic meter, therefore (FOB, Brazil), remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $94.0 per cubic meter in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($92.9 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($47.9 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bolivia (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Brazil Fiberboard Exports
In June 2023, approximately 318K cubic meters of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials were exported from Brazil; picking up by 20% against the previous month's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when exports increased by 65% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 555K cubic meters in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fiberboard exports soared to $22M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when exports increased by 69% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 50M cubic meters in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Brazil Fiberboard Exports by Country
The United States (95K cubic meters), Mexico (66K cubic meters) and the UK (17K cubic meters) were the main destinations of fiberboard exports from Brazil, with a combined 56% share of total exports.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the biggest increases were in the UK (with a CAGR of +13.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for fiberboard exported from Brazil were the United States ($7.5M), Mexico ($3.8M) and the Dominican Republic ($1.2M), with a combined 56% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Colombia, Paraguay, Portugal, Poland, Bolivia, South Africa, Spain, Ecuador and Tanzania, which together accounted for a further 27%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +13.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
