Broadridge Financial Solutions to Expand Workforce in India by 26%

U.S.-based fintech giant Broadridge Financial Solutions is set to bolster its technological workforce in India by a notable 26%, targeting a team of 6,800 employees over the next three years. As per the company's India Managing Director, Sheenam Ohrie, Broadridge currently operates its tech centers solely in India, with prominent clients including financial behemoths like JPMorgan Chase & Co, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. The company aims to initiate local sales through an acquisition-led strategy in the "near term." "By 2030, India will be the third-largest economic power. So if that is the case, then you should be selling there," Ohrie stated earlier this week.

Broadridge plans to leverage the expertise of new software engineers to revamp its existing legacy technology. Their services, which encompass investor communications and financial software solutions, primarily target banks, broker-dealers, and asset managers to enhance trading operations.

The expansion aligns with a broader trend where multinational enterprises are increasingly establishing or expanding their global capability centers (GCCs) in India. These centers drive various operational facets from research and development to cybersecurity. Broadridge itself collaborates with these GCCs, with over 20 premium clients already involved in joint product decisions led by teams located in India, promoting a "zero-distance approach," according to Ohrie.

An illustrative example of Broadridge's innovative pursuits includes its India division working on 'BondGPT,' a groundbreaking large language model (LLM) that resolves bond-related queries, and 'Distributed Ledger Repo,' an initiative aimed at enhancing cash management efficiencies.

As per industry insights from IndexBox, the strategic advancement by Broadridge coincides with significant growth in India's GCC market, anticipated to escalate from $64.6 billion in 2024 to between $99 billion and $105 billion by the fiscal year 2030, as per a report by the IT body Nasscom and consulting firm Zinnov.
