Canada Bacon And Ham Export Price in February 2023
In February 2023, the bacon and ham price amounted to $4,500 per ton (FOB, Canada), reducing by -3.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,581 per ton. From January 2023 to February 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In February 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,067 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($1,524 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
