Canada Insulating Board Import Price in February 2023
In February 2023, the insulating board price stood at $797 per cubic meter (CIF, Canada), rising by 6.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $856 per cubic meter in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to February 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($829 per cubic meter), while the price for the Netherlands ($387 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Canada Insulating Board Imports
In February 2023, approximately 4.8K cubic meters of insulating board were imported into Canada; shrinking by -11.5% on the month before. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 with an increase of 67% month-to-month. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 7.3K cubic meters in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to February 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, insulating board imports dropped to $3.8M (IndexBox estimates) in February 2023. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 with an increase of 50% against the previous month. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 5.3M cubic meters in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to February 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
Canada Insulating Board Imports by Country
In February 2023, the United States (4.3K cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of insulating board to Canada, accounting for a 89% share of total imports. Moreover, insulating board imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (236 cubic meters), more than tenfold.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the average monthly growth rate of volume from the United States was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+24.5% per month) and China (-8.3% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($3.6M) constituted the largest supplier of insulating board to Canada, comprising 93% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($91K), with a 2.4% share of total imports.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the average monthly growth rate of value from the United States was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+22.2% per month) and China (-7.6% per month).
