Lan utilized a creative strategy to deceive travel platform algorithms. By expressing her dissatisfaction with high airfare prices through a series of social media posts, she saw a significant reduction in ticket cost five days later, dropping from 1,200 yuan to under 500 yuan. Her success story underscores the growing discontent among Chinese consumers, many of whom suspect that online platforms employ Big Data techniques to inflate prices for returning customers.
