Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($748M), Germany ($574M) and the United States ($290M) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2024, together accounting for 48% of global exports. Japan, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, France and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

Among the main exporting countries, South Korea, with a CAGR of +7.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

The average cutting blade export price stood at $24,764 per ton in 2024, increasing by 1.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 31%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $26,944 per ton. From 2019 to 2024, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($86,138 per ton), while France ($14,837 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
