Dubai International Airport Welcomes Record 92.3 Million Passengers in 2024

Dubai International Airport (DXB), renowned as the world's busiest travel hub, recorded a remarkable figure of 92.3 million travelers in 2024. This accomplishment marks the highest annual traffic ever in its history. According to a report by the Dubai Media Office, this is an increase of around 6 percent from the 2023 levels.

As Dubai continues to solidify its status as the preeminent tourism and trade hub in the Middle East, investments in expansion projects like the new Dhs128bn ($34.85bn) passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport are underway. This project, once completed, is expected to make it the largest airport in the world—five times the size of DXB—with a capacity to handle up to 260 million passengers annually. Future plans include the transfer of all operations from DXB to Al Maktoum International, further cementing Dubai's role as a crucial player in global aviation and commerce.
