France Chlorides Export Price in June 2023
In June 2023, the chlorides price amounted to $1,416 per ton (FOB, France), with an increase of 3.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, chlorides export price decreased by -3.4% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 70% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,467 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,712 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($235 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

France Chlorides Exports
In June 2023, approximately 9.9K tons of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) were exported from France; growing by 11% compared with the previous month's figure. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when exports increased by 20% month-to-month.
In value terms, chlorides exports reached $14M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 with an increase of 34% m-o-m. The exports peaked in June 2023.
France Chlorides Exports by Country
The UK (3.6K tons) was the main destination for chlorides exports from France, with a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, chlorides exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belgium (1.7K tons), twofold. Switzerland (1.4K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 14% share.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the average monthly growth rate of volume to the UK was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Belgium (-6.0% per month) and Switzerland (-1.0% per month).
In value terms, the largest markets for chlorides exported from France were Germany ($1.6M), Belgium ($1.4M) and Italy ($1.4M), with a combined 31% share of total exports. The UK, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.
The UK, with a CAGR of +4.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
