Factors Contributing to the Price Increase
Malt extract is a popular ingredient in the brewing industry, providing fermentable sugars that contribute to the flavor and color of beer. Food preparations made from flour, meal, and starch are used in various food products, including baked goods, cereals, and snacks.
The increase in price can be attributed to several factors, including rising transportation costs and supply chain disruptions caused by the ongoing pandemic. In addition, there has been a surge in demand for these ingredients due to the increase in home baking and cooking during lockdowns.
The rise in price may result in higher production costs for food manufacturers, which could ultimately be passed on to consumers through higher prices for food products. This increase in the cost of ingredients may also impact smaller businesses, such as local bakeries and cafes, who may struggle to absorb the extra costs.
