Vacuum Cleaner With Motor Price in France Reduces 3%, Averaging $82.7 per Unit

France Vacuum Cleaner Import Price in March 2023

In March 2023, the vacuum cleaner price amounted to $82.7 per unit (CIF, France), declining by -3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 120% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $92.6 per unit in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to March 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($214 per unit), while the price for China ($42.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

France Vacuum Cleaner Import Prices by Type

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplied products. In March 2023, the product with the highest price was vacuum cleaners, with self-contained electric motor, n.e.c. in item no. 8508.1 ($141 per unit), while the price for vacuum cleaners, with self-contained electric motor, of a power not exceeding 1,500 w and having a dust bag or other receptacle capacity not exceeding 20L amounted to $78.4 per unit.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by vacuum cleaners, with self-contained electric motor, n.e.c. in item no. 8508.1 (+3.7%).

France Vacuum Cleaner Imports

In March 2023, the amount of vacuum cleaners with motor imported into France fell markedly to 781K units, reducing by -17.6% against February 2023. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 with an increase of 153% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.9M units. From September 2022 to March 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, vacuum cleaner with motor imports declined sharply to $65M (IndexBox estimates) in March 2023. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 with an increase of 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 85M units in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to March 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The second position in the ranking was taken by vacuum cleaners, with self-contained electric motor, n.e.c. in item no. 8508.1 ($7.6M), with a 12% share of total imports.

The Netherlands (243K units), China (198K units) and Germany (152K units) were the main suppliers of vacuum cleaner with motor imports to France, together accounting for 76% of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Spain, the Philippines, Italy and Malaysia, which together accounted for a further 20%.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Malaysia (with a CAGR of +22.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
