GE Vernova Shares Decline on Disappointing Fourth-Quarter Results

The company reported a net income of $484 million, translating to $1.73 per share, on revenue of $10.56 billion. This performance missed analyst predictions, as Visible Alpha had projected profits of $634.5 million or $2.30 per share on $10.74 billion revenue. Notably, GE Vernova's wind segment posted EBITDA of just $19 million, with an overall loss of $588 million for the year, despite expectations of approaching profitability by the fiscal year's end.

This marks GE Vernova's third full quarter since becoming an independent entity, which had previously recorded an unexpected loss attributed to contract issues within its offshore wind operations.

Despite the disappointing results, Bank of America maintains an optimistic outlook for GE Vernova, recently upgrading and raising its price target due to potential gains from rising gas turbine prices. Interestingly, GE Vernova shares have surged about threefold since the separation from GE Aerospace last April. Meanwhile, GE Aerospace is scheduled to release its fourth-quarter results on Thursday.
