Generali Pledges Over 8.5 Billion Euros Return to Shareholders by 2027

Generali has announced its commitment to return more than 8.5 billion euros ($8.9 billion) to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks by 2027. According to a report by Reuters, this announcement comes as CEO Philippe Donnet prepares for a potential new term amidst past challenges from two billionaire investors.

Donnet, backed by Mediobanca, plans to focus on expansion and shareholder returns, setting aside 1.5 billion euros for mergers and acquisitions. This follows a memorandum with France's BPCE to establish a joint venture managing over 1.9 trillion euros in assets. Generali's strategy aims for an 8-10% annual growth in earnings per share by 2025-2027, with an expected net cash flow above 11 billion euros.
