GoGold Resources Unveils Feasibility Study for Los Ricos South Project

GoGold Resources (TSX: GGD) has unveiled promising results from its feasibility study (FS) for the Los Ricos South (LRS) project located in Jalisco, Mexico. The study indicates an after-tax net present value (NPV) of $355 million with a 28% internal rate of return (IRR) at a standard 5% discount rate, according to Mining.com. The FS also incorporates updated mineral resource estimates that support significant production potentials.

Within the study, expected spot metals prices—$30 per ounce for silver and $2,608 per ounce for gold—elevate the NPV to $469 million and the IRR to 34%, while potentially reducing the payback period from 2.6 years to 2 years. The project outlines a re-engineered 2,000-tonne-per-day underground mine plan, notably detailed in the process plant design by Ausenco, which aims to expedite future engineering and construction phases.

In addition to strong financial projections, the mineral resource estimates include 11 million tonnes at 162 g/t silver, 1.56 g/t gold, and 0.12% copper in the measured and indicated category, along with inferred resources of 2.2 million tonnes averaging 106 g/t silver, 1.11 g/t gold, and 0.27% copper. Proven and probable reserves have been calculated at 10.2 million tonnes of material grading 145.4 g/t silver, 1.39 g/t gold, and 0.10% copper, feeding into an estimated production of 80 million silver-equivalent ounces over the planned 15-year mine life.

Following the release of the FS, GoGold's shares have risen by 1.5% to C$1.39 as of 11:15 a.m. ET, reflecting a market capitalization of C$469.6 million ($325.6 million). Additionally, the company plans further exploration activities to bolster high-grade underground resources at LRS and intends to progress the Los Ricos North project, situating it as a significant milestone in GoGold's resource extraction strategy.
