Factors Affecting Ferro-Manganese Prices
The ferro-manganese price in India is determined by the international market price for manganese ore, as well as the domestic production costs and transporting the finished product. Indian ferro-manganese producers typically have lower production costs than their international counterparts, due to lower labor and energy costs. As a result, they are able to sell their product at a lower price than what would be possible in other markets.
The price of ferro-manganese in India has been on the rise in recent months, due to strong demand from the steel industry. Indian steelmakers have been ramping up production to meet rising domestic and global demand, and this has led to increased demand for ferro-manganese.
The vast majority of ferro-manganese production in India is exported, as there is not enough domestic demand to absorb all of the output. However, with prices rising, more Indian steelmakers are starting to use ferro-manganese in their own production. This is likely to lead to increased domestic demand for the material in the future.
