India Unsaturated Acyclic Hydrocarbons Import Price in November 2022
In November 2022, the unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons price stood at $1,614 per ton (CIF, India), declining by -21% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,671 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to November 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($4,701 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($1,083 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2021 to November 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

India Unsaturated Acyclic Hydrocarbons Imports
In November 2022, the amount of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imported into India soared to 14K tons, rising by 61% against the previous month. In general, imports enjoyed a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when imports increased by 169% month-to-month. As a result, imports attained the peak of 17K tons. From October 2022 to November 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports skyrocketed to $22M (IndexBox estimates) in November 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated moderate growth from November 2021 to November 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2022 figures, imports decreased by -21.8% against September 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 with an increase of 63% against the previous month. As a result, imports attained the peak of $28M. From October 2022 to November 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
India Unsaturated Acyclic Hydrocarbons Imports by Country
In November 2022, the United States (8.6K tons) constituted the largest supplier of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons to India, with a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Saudi Arabia (1.2K tons), sevenfold. Belgium (1.1K tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.9% share.
From November 2021 to November 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from the United States totaled +8.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Saudi Arabia (-3.1% per month) and Belgium (+11.3% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($12M) constituted the largest supplier of unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons to India, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($3.7M), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 7.6% share.
From November 2021 to November 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from the United States totaled +9.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: China (+0.8% per month) and Belgium (+8.6% per month).
