Aluminium Alloy Tube Price in Italy Falls 7%, Averaging $7,066 per Ton

Italy Aluminium Alloy Tube Export Price in February 2023

In February 2023, the aluminium alloy tube price stood at $7,066 per ton (FOB, Italy), with a decrease of -7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 6% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $7,760 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to February 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In February 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($11,003 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($3,913 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Italy Aluminium Alloy Tube Exports

In February 2023, approximately 1.1K tons of aluminium alloy tubes and pipes were exported from Italy; jumping by 19% compared with January 2023 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 with an increase of 98% month-to-month.

In value terms, aluminium alloy tube exports expanded rapidly to $8M (IndexBox estimates) in February 2023. In general, exports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when exports increased by 98% m-o-m.

Italy Aluminium Alloy Tube Exports by Country

France (160 tons), Spain (147 tons) and Germany (111 tons) were the main destinations of aluminium alloy tube exports from Italy, together comprising 37% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, Morocco, the United States, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 50%.

From February 2022 to February 2023, the biggest increases were in Slovenia (with a CAGR of +4.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($1.1M), Germany ($987K) and Spain ($822K) constituted the largest markets for aluminium alloy tube exported from Italy worldwide, together accounting for 37% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, the United States, Morocco, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.
