This strategic consideration by KKR aligns with Apollo Global Management Inc.'s interest, which involves a potential commitment of up to Y=1.5 trillion. The growing interest from these private equity giants highlights the solidifying credibility of a consortium-backed proposal aiming to counter Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.'s advances towards the retailer.

Financing and Equity Stakes in Focus

Helmed by the Ito family and Itochu Corp., who are key figures in operating FamilyMart convenience stores in Japan, the management buyout proposal estimates approximately Y=4 trillion ($25.7 billion) in equity stakes, supplemented by bank financing. Initially, the valuation target for Seven & i stood at Y=9 trillion, significantly surpassing Couche-Tard's offer of Y=7.5 trillion. However, current market conditions may necessitate adjustments.

Japanese financial powerhouses Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc., Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., and Mizuho Financial Group Inc. are anticipated to contribute to the financing efforts.
