LIV Golf Partners with Fox Sports for Exclusive Media Rights

LIV Golf Partners with Fox Sports for Multiyear Media Rights Deal

LIV Golf has announced a significant multiyear media rights agreement with Fox Sports, which is set to begin broadcasts starting February, as reported by CNBC. The 14-tournament season of the LIV Golf League will be aired on Fox, FS1, and other Fox networks, with additional streaming available on the Fox Sports and LIV Golf+ apps.

This development arrives one day after the league, funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, appointed Scott O'Neil as its new CEO. O'Neil, the former CEO of Merlin Entertainments and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, expressed excitement about joining forces with Fox Sports, emphasizing the potential for growth brought by this partnership. "We are thrilled to partner with FOX Sports, one of the preeminent broadcast networks in the world," O'Neil stated in a news release.

The league hosts 13 teams with notable golfers like Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau among its roster. Having previously faced challenges in viewership while on the CW Network, LIV Golf is optimistic that the shift to Fox will broaden its audience engagement. The league's previous individual championship attracted fewer than 90,000 viewers. The league's season will commence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 6, with its team championship finale in late August in the Detroit suburbs. This will include events across nine countries globally, marking it as a truly international golf league.
