On Meta's recent earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg maintained his commitment to significant AI investments despite new competition from Chinese AI startup DeepSeek. The company, which has shaken Silicon Valley with its cost-effective AI model training, has been a focal point of industry discussions on AI spending.

Zuckerberg addressed analysts' concerns by acknowledging DeepSeek's innovations but noted that it's "probably too early to really have a strong opinion" on any potential shift in Meta's AI expenditure. Yet, Zuckerberg expressed confidence in the strategic path they have undertaken, reiterating plans to allocate between $60 billion and $65 billion for capital investments in 2025.
