Over the period under review, production continues to indicate pronounced growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. Singapore (2.5B units), Malaysia (2.1B units) and Vietnam (1.9B units) held a minor share of total imports.

Imports into China increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2013 to 2025. At the same time, Vietnam (+67.0%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.1%), Malaysia (+5.6%) and South Korea (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +67.0% from 2013-2025. Hong Kong SAR experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Singapore (-2.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2013 to 2025, the share of China, Taiwan (Chinese) and Vietnam increased by +6.4, +5.3 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
