From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of consumption, amongst the key consuming countries, was attained by Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +11.4%), while consumption for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($2.6B) led the market, alone. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($1.3B). It was followed by China.

India (69K tons) ranked third in terms of total production with an 8% share.

In value terms, Brazil ($281M), the United States ($257M) and Germany ($118M) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2024, with a combined 28% share of global imports. Import Prices By Country

In 2024, the average metal flexible tubing import price amounted to $11,778 per ton, with an increase of 4.1% against the previous year. Over the last eleven years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 an increase of 29% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11,836 per ton. From 2023 to 2024, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

The following exporters - South Korea (6.9K tons), the United States (6.8K tons), Germany (6.3K tons), Turkey (6.2K tons) and Spain (5.4K tons) - each amounted to a 15% share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +9.0% from 2013 to 2024. At the same time, Denmark (+74.8%), India (+9.1%) and South Korea (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Denmark emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +74.8% from 2013-2024. Spain, Turkey and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United States (-2.2%), France (-4.0%) and Germany (-5.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+17 p.p.), Denmark (+8.8 p.p.) and India (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the United States, the UK, Germany and France saw its share reduced by -3.1%, -3.2%, -5.7% and -8.6% from 2013 to 2024, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest metal flexible tubing supplying countries worldwide were the UK ($517M), China ($429M) and Germany ($275M), with a combined 42% share of global exports. France, Denmark, the United States, Spain, India, Turkey and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.

Denmark, with a CAGR of +67.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2024, the average metal flexible tubing export price amounted to $14,090 per ton, picking up by 9.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 32%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $14,877 per ton. From 2017 to 2024, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($43,480 per ton), while China ($5,094 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
