Mexico Television Receiver Exports
For the fourth year in a row, Mexico recorded decline in shipments abroad of television receivers, which decreased by -3.4% to 33M units in 2023. Over the period under review, exports showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 90M units. From 2016 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, television receiver exports contracted to $10.6B (IndexBox estimates) in 2023. In general, exports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 14%. The exports peaked at $16.1B in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country
the United States (30M units) was the main destination for television receiver exports from Mexico, with a 90% share of total exports. Moreover, television receiver exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (1.1M units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Colombia (1M units), with a 3.1% share.
From 2013 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled -4.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Canada (-5.1% per year) and Colombia (-8.3% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($9.5B) remains the key foreign market for television receivers exports from Mexico, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Canada ($469M), with a 4.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 2.4% share.
From 2013 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States stood at -3.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Canada (-5.8% per year) and Colombia (-7.8% per year).

With regard to the other exported products, the following average annual rates of growth were recorded: tuner blocks (-31.9% per year) and reception apparatus for television, whether or not incorporating radio-broadcast receivers or sound or video recording or reproducing apparatus; incorporating a black and white or other monochrome video display or screen (+13.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2023, the television receiver price stood at $320 per unit (FOB, Mexico), reducing by -7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a slight expansion from 2013 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 36%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $345 per unit in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($422 per unit), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($248 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
