Modon Holding Acquires Arena Events Group for Global Expansion

Modon Holding, an investment firm based in Abu Dhabi, has announced an agreement to acquire Arena Events Group, a pivotal player in temporary infrastructure and event solutions across more than 10 countries, including the US, UK, and Saudi Arabia. Arena, renowned for its contributions to high-profile sporting events like the 2024 Paris Olympics, Formula 1 races, and Wimbledon, will now spearhead Modon's venture into large-scale, integrated event services. The acquisition includes the procurement of Theta Bidco, Arena's parent company, set to conclude by Q1 2025, contingent on regulatory approvals.

According to data from the IndexBox platform, the global events sector is experiencing robust growth, driven by a surge in demand for quality infrastructure and hospitality services at live gatherings. Arena's notable experience in constructing modular structures, including a stadium for the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York, highlights its capacity to meet this increasing demand.

Jassem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, chairman of Modon Holding, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition in advancing the company's growth trajectory, particularly in North America, where Arena maintains its largest revenue base. "Arena's leadership in the events sector positions Modon for continued growth and diversification in global markets," Al Zaabi stated.

This acquisition also signifies Modon's initial major expansion into the North American market, supported by Arena's extensive client base and a workforce exceeding 1,000 employees in the region. CEO of Modon, Bill O'Regan, noted that Arena's expertise would "add new dimensions to the company's existing event services," paving the way for new market exploration.

Syed Basar Shueb, CEO of International Holding Company, which has owned Arena for three years, expressed confidence in Modon's capability to leverage Arena's market strengths. He remarked, "Modon is the ideal partner to elevate Arena's capabilities, especially in the growing temporary infrastructure and event structure markets."

This acquisition aligns with the broader trend in the events sector, as companies strive to meet the increasing attendance and demand predicted over the coming years.
