Nucor Increases Hot Rolled Coil Prices Amid Tariff Influences

In a recent move, American steel giant Nucor has announced yet another rise in the spot price for hot rolled coil (HRC), setting it at $775 per short ton, which signifies a $15 increase from last week. Market observers interpret Nucor's pricing strategy as a litmus test to gauge market acceptance of the new levels. On the supply side, the company's order fulfillment period ranges from 3 to 5 weeks. In contrast, another significant player, Cleveland-Cliffs, has reported a robust order book for the first quarter of 2025, driven by demand across automotive and non-automotive sectors.
