Oracle Enhances NetSuite with AI-Driven Pricing Features

In a strategic move to enhance its corporate finance software offerings, Oracle announced the addition of new artificial intelligence (AI) tools to NetSuite, aimed at streamlining tasks such as generating price quotes for complex configurations like custom bicycles. According to Reuters, Oracle's approach differs from competitors like Microsoft, focusing on targeted features designed to speed up mundane tasks rather than developing general-purpose virtual assistants.

NetSuite's latest feature employs a conversational chatbot that assists in compiling price quotes based on consumer preferences. This function can be utilized by sales professionals to expedite their work or directly by consumers in e-commerce settings, simplifying the configuration process for complex products. Evan Goldberg, executive vice president of Oracle NetSuite, shared with Reuters, "If you can configure products for customers more easily, you can do more deals in a day, or each deal costs less."

To implement these features, Oracle has opted out of the costly development of large-scale AI models, instead choosing to collaborate with partners such as Canadian startup Cohere. Furthermore, Oracle's recent agreement to build massive data centers with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, suggests potential collaboration in the future, although no official announcements have been made yet.
