Osisko Development is making significant strides in advancing a feasibility study and securing project financing for its Cariboo gold project in British Columbia. According to a report by Mining.com, the company recently obtained a crucial construction permit. This development was announced by founder and CEO Sean Roosen during a key event in London.

The Cariboo project, designed to process 5,000 tonnes of ore per day, boasts promising stats with 2 million ounces in reserves and 3.3 million ounces in resources. Initial production is expected to yield 200,000 ounces of gold annually. Roosen described the Cariboo site as "one of Canada's most exciting mining camps," highlighting its extensive reach across an 83-km mineralized trend featuring multiple mines.

The project is set to utilize cutting-edge ore-sorting and road-header technology aimed at minimizing waste and environmental impact, while relying on green power sourced from BC Hydro. Osisko is eyeing a production expansion to 15,000 tonnes daily, potentially increasing annual output to 500,000 ounces, a plan that aligns with the ambitious targets set within the mining industry.

With $130 million in cash reserves and minimal debt, Osisko is nearing completion of a $750 million financing package for the Cariboo project.
