Significant Decline in Imports of Ceramic Statuettes to $3.4M Recorded in July 2023 in Poland

Poland Ceramic Statuette Imports

Ceramic statuette imports into Poland surged to 824 tons in July 2023, jumping by 18% against June 2023 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when imports increased by 57% m-o-m.

In value terms, ceramic statuette imports declined to $3.4M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. Imports by Country

China (486 tons), Germany (258 tons) and the Netherlands (20 tons) were the main suppliers of ceramic statuette imports to Poland, together accounting for 93% of total imports.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of -3.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, Germany ($1.4M), China ($1.3M) and the Netherlands ($89K) constituted the largest ceramic statuette suppliers to Poland, together accounting for 86% of total imports.

Germany, with a CAGR of +1.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

Import Prices by Country

In July 2023, the ceramic statuette price amounted to $4,073 per ton (CIF, Poland), waning by -19.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 29% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,080 per ton, and then fell remarkably in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Portugal ($5,714 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($2,419 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
