Poland's Egg Product Price Rises Modestly to $3,977 per Ton

Poland Egg Product Export Price in March 2023

In March 2023, the egg product price amounted to $3,977 per ton (FOB, Poland), picking up by 9% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated pronounced growth from March 2022 to March 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2023 figures, egg product export price increased by +9.0% against February 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 33% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,149 per ton. From November 2022 to March 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($6,170 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($2,581 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poland Egg Product Exports

Egg product exports from Poland fell to 4K tons in March 2023, which is down by -8.7% compared with the previous month. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 with an increase of 89% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 4.9K tons. From February 2023 to March 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, egg product exports contracted modestly to $16M (IndexBox estimates) in March 2023. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from March 2022 to March 2023: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2023 figures, exports decreased by -11.6% against January 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when exports increased by 78% against the previous month.

Poland Egg Product Exports by Country

Germany (1.1K tons) was the main destination for egg product exports from Poland, with a 28% share of total exports. Moreover, egg product exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (564 tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Czech Republic (409 tons), with a 10% share.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Italy (-8.2% per month) and the Czech Republic (+2.7% per month).

In value terms, Germany ($3.6M), Denmark ($2.1M) and Italy ($1.5M) appeared to be the largest markets for egg product exported from Poland worldwide, with a combined 44% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Sweden, France, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 32%.

France, with a CAGR of +20.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
