Average Price of Technical Textiles in Poland Is $17.2 per kg

Poland Technical Textiles Export Price in April 2023

In April 2023, the technical textiles price stood at $17,228 per ton (FOB, Poland), approximately equating the previous month. Over the period from April 2022 to April 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $17,248 per ton in March 2023, and then shrank in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($64,663 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($4,033 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poland Technical Textiles Export Prices by Type

Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was textile wicks, woven, plaited or knitted; for lamps, stoves, lighters, candles or the like; incandescent gas mantles and tubular knitted gas mantle fabric therefor, whether or not impregnated ($37,230 per ton), while the average price for exports of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing ($4,256 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter (+2.4%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

Poland Technical Textiles Exports

In April 2023, exports of textile products and articles for technical uses from Poland reached 829 tons, surging by 2% compared with March 2023. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 with an increase of 25% against the previous month.

In value terms, technical textiles exports reached $14M (IndexBox estimates) in April 2023. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the period from April 2022 to April 2023; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 with an increase of 39% month-to-month. The exports peaked in April 2023.

Poland Technical Textiles Exports by Type

Textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter (700 tons) was the largest type of technical textiles exported from Poland, with a 84% share of total exports. Moreover, textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter exceeded the volume of the second product type, textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing (100 tons), sevenfold. Textiles; transmission or conveyor belts or belting, of textile material, whether or not reinforced with metal or other material (22 tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.6% share.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of export of textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter was relatively modest. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing (-4.4% per month) and textiles; transmission or conveyor belts or belting, of textile material, whether or not reinforced with metal or other material (-0.7% per month).

In value terms, textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter ($13M) remains the largest type of technical textiles exported from Poland, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by textiles; transmission or conveyor belts or belting, of textile material, whether or not reinforced with metal or other material ($658K), with a 4.6% share of total exports. It was followed by textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing, with a 3% share.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the export volume of textile products and articles for technical uses; specified in note 7 to this chapter amounted to +2.4%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: textiles; transmission or conveyor belts or belting, of textile material, whether or not reinforced with metal or other material (-2.6% per month) and textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing (-2.1% per month).

Poland Technical Textiles Exports by Country

Germany (316 tons), Sweden (163 tons) and Slovakia (59 tons) were the main destinations of technical textiles exports from Poland, together accounting for 65% of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, the UK, Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, the Czech Republic and France, which together accounted for a further 24%.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +10.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($5.1M) remains the key foreign market for technical textiles exports from Poland, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sweden ($1.9M), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with an 8.9% share.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to +1.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Sweden (+2.2% per month) and Kazakhstan (+35.4% per month).
