Poland Woven Carpet Imports
In 2023, approx. 18M square meters of woven carpets and other woven textile coverings were imported into Poland; increasing by 5.9% on the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2013 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports decreased by -0.5% against 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 182% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 18M square meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, woven carpet imports expanded notably to $125M (IndexBox estimates) in 2023. Over the period under review, total imports indicated notable growth from 2013 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports decreased by -3.2% against 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 183% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $129M in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country
the Netherlands (6.3M square meters), Turkey (5.2M square meters) and Austria (1.3M square meters) were the main suppliers of woven carpet imports to Poland, with a combined 73% share of total imports. India, Germany, Belgium and Egypt lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2013 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +16.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country
In 2023, the woven carpet price amounted to $7.1 per square meter (CIF, Poland), leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 22%. The import price peaked at $7.6 per square meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
