Private Equity Owners Consider Sale of AlixPartners

The private equity owners of AlixPartners are contemplating a potential sale of the US-based consulting firm, according to sources familiar with the situation. Yahoo Finance reports that Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, Public Sector Pension Investment Board, and Investcorp are currently working with advisers to assess buyer interest in AlixPartners, which could be valued at more than $5 billion.

AlixPartners was primarily acquired by the aforementioned investors along with its founder, Jay Alix, from CVC Capital Partners Plc back in 2016. AlixPartners, recognized for its proficiency in assisting private equity firms in enhancing portfolio company revenues, stated that it frequently reviews its capital structure and engages external investors in its growth strategies.

The firm's advisory services span across diverse sectors including aerospace and defense, financial services, retail, and technology media and telecommunications. Some of its notable clients include Alacrity Solutions, Big Lots Inc., and rue21 Inc. AlixPartners has announced the appointment of David Garfield and Rob Hornby as co-chief executive officers, effective February 1st.
