Germany's Coarse Animal Hair Price Plummets to $2,457 per Ton

In November 2022, the coarse animal hair price amounted to $2,457 per ton (CIF, Germany), with a decrease of -42.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 326% against the previous month. Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($5,668 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($1,032 per ton) was amongst the lowest. In November 2022, approximately 75 tons of coarse animal hair were imported into Germany; with an increase of 22% against the month before. China (54 tons) constituted the largest supplier of coarse animal hair to Germany, accounting for a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, coarse animal hair imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Paraguay (18 tons), threefold.
