European Imports of Essential Oils Accelerates Despite the Pandemic

Despite the Covid-related restrictions, imports of essential oils in the EU rose by +10% y-o-y and reached $1.5B. In volume terms, it increased by +14% y-o-y to 55K tons. Germany, France and Ireland remain the key importers of essential oils in the EU, constituting 63% of total European imports. Brazil provides 64% of essential oil volume imported to Germany, while France has a diversified pool of suppliers. Argentina dominates Ireland's imports with a 67%-share of the total volume.
