Qatar Bottled Water Import Price in February 2023
In February 2023, the bottled water price amounted to $733 per thousand litres (CIF, Qatar), rising by 7.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 41% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $925 per thousand litres in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to February 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($2.1 per litre), while the price for the UK ($321 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Qatar Bottled Water Import Prices by Type
Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was non-mineral or non-aerated waters ($1.2 per litre), while the price for mineral or aerated waters stood at $631 per thousand litres.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by non-mineral or non-aerated water (+6.4%).
Qatar Bottled Water Imports
In February 2023, approximately 572K litres of bottled waters were imported into Qatar; waning by -60.5% against the month before. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 when imports increased by 168% month-to-month. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 3M litres in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to February 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, bottled water imports declined markedly to $419K (IndexBox estimates) in February 2023. In general, imports recorded a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 with an increase of 154% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 2.1M litres in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to February 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
Qatar Bottled Water Imports by Type
In February 2023, mineral or aerated waters (463K litres) constituted the largest type of bottled water supplied to Qatar, accounting for a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, mineral or aerated waters exceeded the figures recorded for the second-largest type, non-mineral or non-aerated waters (109K litres), fourfold.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of import of mineral or aerated waters amounted to -6.8%.
In value terms, mineral or aerated waters ($292K) constituted the largest type of bottled water supplied to Qatar, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by non-mineral or non-aerated waters ($127K), with a 30% share of total imports.
Qatar Bottled Water Imports by Country
the UK (235K litres), Norway (134K litres) and Turkey (105K litres) were the main suppliers of bottled water imports to Qatar, with a combined 83% share of total imports.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +27.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest bottled water suppliers to Qatar were Norway ($150K), the UK ($75K) and France ($62K), together accounting for 68% of total imports.
