Saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids imports into Qatar fell to 1.9K tons in 2023, with a decrease of -12.6% against 2022 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of 81%. The second position in the ranking was taken by mono-, di- or tri-chloroacetic acids; propionic, butanoic and pentanoic acids and their salts and esters ($609K), with a 9.2% share of total imports. It was followed by esters of acetic acid (excluding ethyl acetate), with a 9% share.
Import Prices by Country
In 2023, the saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids price stood at $3,579 per ton (CIF, Qatar), declining by -17.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a pronounced reduction.
