Qatar Spirits And Liqueurs Import Price in June 2023
In June 2023, the spirits and liqueurs price stood at $2.3 per litre (CIF, Qatar), with a decrease of -31.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 49% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4.9 per litre in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($18.2 per litre), while the price for India ($1.8 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Qatar Spirits And Liqueurs Imports
For the fifth consecutive month, Qatar recorded decline in supplies from abroad of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages, which decreased by -6.4% to 189K litres in June 2023. In general, imports recorded a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when imports increased by 65% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 714K litres in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, spirits and liqueurs imports fell markedly to $432K (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 with an increase of 66% m-o-m. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.3M. From October 2022 to June 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Qatar Spirits And Liqueurs Imports by Country
India (105K litres), Latvia (69K litres) and the United States (12K litres) were the main suppliers of spirits and liqueurs imports to Qatar, together comprising 98% of total imports.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the biggest increases were in the United States (with a CAGR of +8.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest spirits and liqueurs suppliers to Qatar were India ($185K), Latvia ($129K) and France ($64K), with a combined 87% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, which accounted for a further 13%.
In terms of the main suppliers, the United States, with a CAGR of +9.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
