In contrast, Dr. Alan Baratz, CEO of D-Wave Systems, one of the leading companies in quantum computing, dismissed Huang's timeline as overly conservative. Baratz argues that D-Wave's current quantum computing solutions are already in commercial use, effectively addressing business needs across various industries.

The financial market echoed mixed reactions to Huang's comments, with many quantum computing stocks, which had been performing well, experiencing a decline. Baratz attributes this to Huang's focus on gate-based quantum systems, which require error correction—a development that may indeed take years.
