ReElement Technologies and Novare to Establish Africa's First Critical Elements Refinery

ReElement Technologies, a subsidiary of American Resources (NASDAQ: AREC), has announced a partnership with South Africa-based investment firm Novare to build a $100 million critical and rare earth elements refinery. The original announcement highlighted that the facility aims to produce high-purity elements essential for advanced technologies in both commercial and defense sectors.

The collaboration will see ReElement Technologies contribute its proprietary technology, known for its scalability and environmental friendliness, to produce high-purity lithium carbonate, rare earth oxides, and other critical minerals. Meanwhile, Novare will provide capital investment and operational management for the project, which is anticipated to commence development in the second half of 2025.

Ben Kincaid, CEO of ReElement Technologies African unit, remarked that this partnership is a reflection of their commitment to innovation in the critical minerals sector and aims to enhance the value of natural resources and catalyze industrial economic growth in Africa. Novare Group CEO Ola Leepile expressed confidence that this venture aligns with their vision of impactful investment in the region.

Mark Jensen, CEO of American Resources Corporation and ReElement Technologies, noted that their advanced chromatographic technology is one of only two capable of separating and purifying complex mixtures of critical and rare-earth elements at scale in the U.S., positioning them as pioneers in this field.
