Salesforce Challenges Veeva in Pharma Software Industry

Salesforce Inc. has announced a significant pivot in its strategy, targeting the pharmaceutical sector by taking several large customers from its former partner, Veeva Systems Inc. Veeva Systems, historically a dominant player with more than 80% market share in pharmaceutical-focused customer relationship management (CRM) software, generated an estimated $2.72 billion in annual revenue for the year ending in January. The rivalry between the two companies has intensified after Veeva moved away from Salesforce's platform, opting to build its own suite of applications. Analysts suggest that Salesforce's aggressive strategy and competitive offerings could reshape the market landscape.
