The Capital Market Authority (CMA) in Saudi Arabia has initiated a public consultation regarding these proposed changes, marking a significant step towards reshaping the investment landscape (source).

The proposals aim to bolster the regulatory framework for investment funds by ensuring that governance standards protect investor rights and increase transparency and disclosure for fund unit holders. Notably, the new regulations would enable funds listed on the Parallel Market (Nomu) to invest in real estate development projects without being constrained by existing investment policy percentages and asset restrictions.

Moreover, the proposed changes include provisions for the smooth transition of fund management responsibilities within a designated 60-day period, enhancing operational stability.
