Saudi Global Ports Eyes $1 Billion IPO with Heavyweight Bank Support

Saudi Global Ports Co., a state-backed port operator, is advancing plans for an initial public offering (IPO) on the Riyadh Stock Exchange, engaging top financial institutions like Goldman Sachs and HSBC Holdings for the process. According to Bloomberg, the listing, potentially occurring as early as next year, could raise up to $1 billion.

The company, partly owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Singapore's PSA International Pte, operates significant container terminals in the kingdom, including the largest terminal on the Persian Gulf at King Abdulaziz Port, as well as Riyadh Dry Port. This strategic positioning underscores the importance of the IPO in aligning with the broader objectives of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's ambitious plan to diversify its economy beyond oil dependency.

The broader transport and logistics sector in Saudi Arabia is undergoing rapid transformation.
