The Hagerty data shows rising interest in models like the Datsun 280ZX and Honda Prelude. These Japanese cars have seen interest swell significantly, with values also climbing. For instance, the Datsun 280ZX has experienced a remarkable 138% price increase since 2019, reaching an average value of $32,800. This trend is indicative of a broader movement from traditional muscle cars and Corvettes to more modern classics.

Additionally, the market is witnessing increased demand for rarer manual transmissions, with models like the Lamborghini Gallardo experiencing notable appreciation. Since 2019, the Gallardo's value has risen 7.4% to an average price of $157,700. This shift underscores a blend of nostalgia and desire for exclusivity among collectors.

Despite a modest decline in the overall classic car market reflected in a 3% drop in sales during Monterey Car Week, Hagerty's business remains robust. The company's Q3 revenues rose by 17%, fueled by growth in its insurance and car marketplace sectors.
